Last Sunday in church before departure!

Dr. Tony and Patricia Thompson standing with Marilyn Smithhart. Tony is an Elder and currently serves on our mission committee. Along with Sharon, Tony provides encouraging leadership as we prepare for Romania. Marilyn constructed the "feelings" wall hanging. What a seamstress! Each pocket of the hanging contains a 3-D felt head, complete with hair and face. The faces represent different feelings. Each pocket is labeled with the corresponding word in Romanian. (Sharon will further explain the Play Therapy Workshops later!)

Dr. Sharon Templeman, Professor of Social Work, stands by the "feelings" wall hanging. While in Romania, Sharon will lead two Play Therapy Workshops for orphanage staff members. The workshop includes training with puppets, toys and the feelings chart. (More from Sharon in future posts.)

Marty Taylor and her almost-full duffel bag! Marty works at Commercial Bank of Texas, which hosted a "shower" for the orphaned children in Romania. Co-workers donated much needed supplies, plus funds to purchase additional supplies. Thanks Commercial Bank!

Michael Thompson and Terri Moehring help pack our supply bags. Terri, a consultant with Mary Kay, donated a large quantity of makeup samples, as well as lots of costume jewelry. The teenage girls will love these items! Michael provided the muscle to load the bags into our cars!

Bobbie Ann, Marty and Sharon look over tables of craft supplies, underwear, socks, toys, medical supplies and baby clothing for Romanian children. All items were donated by our generous church members, friends, family and co-workers. Anyone know how many Beanie Babies it takes to reach 50 pounds?
